<jats:p>The new compound SFCl was obtained by UV photolysis of FC(O)SCl in rare gas matrix and by UV photolysis of Cl<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>/SF<jats:sub>3</jats:sub>SF in the gas phase. Isotopic substitution verifies the molecular identity. Eight frequencies from three isotropic molecules determine the force constants f<jats:sub>SF</jats:sub> = 4.30 and f<jats:sub>scl</jats:sub> = 2.90 10<jats:sup>2</jats:sup>N/m.</jats:p>
