Beschreibung:
Unlike his famous brothers, the so-called 'Bückeburg Bach' (1732-95)-second youngest son of J.S. Bach-lacked originality. As a result, he imitated many 18th-c. stylistic trends: the late Baroque manner of his father, the Neapolitan opera seria style of his Italian colleagues G.B. Serini and A. Colonna, the Empfindsamkeit of his brother Philipp Emanuel, the buffo qualities in music of the Mannheim composers and his younger brother Johann Christian, the Sturm und Drang character of Franz Christoph Neubauer's music, and finally, the Classical style of Haydn and Mozart.
