  • Beschreibung: One of the basic objective of globalisation is to develop an economy from all aspects. But, it is seen that after several years of open economy, most of the unorganised sectors are yet to be developed at par. Considering this, different socio-economic units are taking initiatives at national and international level. Being the significant player of globalisation, business firms are also trying to mainstream those unorganised sections through the socially responsible activities. This consists of strategic contribution or spending for the different sections of communities or societies staying in the 'bottom of the pyramid'. The present study seeks to explore those activities of some selected Indian companies. For this purpose, the secondary data are collected from the published sustainability and annual report of the sample companies. The results show that the education, livelihood and health related practices are the most common agenda. Some of the companies are also acting for the women empowerment, development of slums and rural infrastructure. Through this study, it can be seen that the companies are playing a considerable role in the inclusive growth of an economy
