This research studies the impact of China’s inland port construction on the economic and trade development of both developed and developing countries along the Silk Road. Using our adapted trade-focused gravity model, this study illustrates the coordinated manner in which these developments have occurred, particularly for developing countries. Our results highlight the important role that logistics infrastructure projects play in creating future trade and economic development opportunities for countries along the Silk Road
