  • Beschreibung: This study is about the impact of trade on renewable energy consumption in the contest of Governance and environmental degradation in ASEAN countries. Panel data are framed to get the required objective over the period of 1980-2018. For estimation purpose POLS, FMOLD and DOLS models are used. The results of estimation techniques are different in some cases while mostly the same with respect to sign, magnitude and significance for FMOLS and DOLS. Trade openness is negative and statistically significant to affect renewable energy consumption with FMOLS and DOLS techniques while reported positive by POLS. The variable FDI is found negative to renewable energy consumption by POLS, while the outcomes of FMOLS and DOLS are positive related to renewable energy consumption. Environmental degradation (CO2) is negative and significant to energy consumption estimated by all three models. The coefficient of urbanization in different models having the same negative sign which reflect that urbanization negatively affect renewable energy consumption. In POLS is found insignificant while in the other two techniques FMOLS and DOLS it was found significant. The factor governance is found positive reported by all the models. The positive sign means that an increase in governance leads to increase the consumption of renewable energy
