  • Beschreibung: Presently, Indian companies are initiating CSR activities on the basis of rules given in the Companies Act, 2013. Studies are available on the CSR expenditure allotment and its segregation. Most of these recent studies have found that the companies have several initiatives in relation to COVID control. But, Indian government is also trying to revive economically, immediately after this pandemic. Considering this, companies are expected to have proper strategy towards quick economic development of the system. In that case companies should consider CSR expenditure for the economic development purpose. Literatures on this issue have not been explored yet. Therefore, the present paper is prepared to quantify CSR expenditure on the economic development and its relationship with the total CSR expenditure. By using ‘t’ test, correlation analysis and regression model, it is found that sample companies’ economic contribution has not been increased significantly. It is also found that companies with above prescribed CSR expenditure, are spending more in the economic development than other companies. Overall, CSR expenditure for economic development is less prioritised over the other CSR issues previously and during pandemic
