The dental implantology currently delivers the best prosthetic rehabilitation of missing teeth. The reliable succesful restorations made the treatment accessible for vast group of patients. Osteoporosis, a disease prevalent in the older population group is not ideally suited for the bony integration of dental implants. In this study the amelioration of the implant site using polylactides welded into the bone was studied in Göttingen mini pigs.
