  • Beschreibung: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:sec><jats:title>Background</jats:title><jats:p>We are interested in the link between Aβ deposition and neurodegeneration</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Method</jats:title><jats:p>We analyzed the trajectories of Aβ deposition, Aβ seeding activity, and neurodegeneration in APP trangenic mice, and probed the linkage by impeding Aβ production at different amyloid stages using BACE1 inhibition. To extend the findings to humans, we studied key comparative trajectories of Aβ deposition and neurodegeneration markers in cases of familial AD.</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Result</jats:title><jats:p>Outcome of BACE1 inhibition was dependent on the amyloid stage</jats:p></jats:sec><jats:sec><jats:title>Conclusion</jats:title><jats:p>We found a temporal uncoupling between Aβ deposition and neurodegeneration</jats:p></jats:sec>
