  • Beschreibung:
Abstract
A novel parametric model for optical mirrors is proposed based on an advanced solids modelling technique to design and analyze optical systems. This new technique implements two ray‐tracing methods on the arbitrary parametric nature of optical mirror surfaces in order to provide a high degree of flexibility and avoid the typical restrictions of traditional canonical structures. The proposed technique is employed to design and optimize multipass cells used on gas‐sensing applications. Results are discussed and show that the technique can also be successfully used for analysis of optical resonators. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
