La formule de la bergenite holotype de Bergen an der Trieb (Vogtland, Saxe, RDA) est Ba₄/₃Ca₂/₃(UO₂)₃(PO₄)₂(OH)₄ . ~ 5,5 H₂O. Les cristaux sont monocliniques, groupe spatial P2₁/c, a = 23,32 Å, b = 17,19 Å, c = 20,63 Å, β = 93,0°, Z = 18. Type structural de la phosphuranylite.
