There is a lot of biographical information about the outstanding figures of domestic library science in the “Library encyclopedia” (М, 2007) which happened to be published the first time in our country. There one can find the data on the persons who have brought, according to the editorial board’s opinion, the most essential contribution to development of problems of the library science. They were writing workbooks for libraries to help studying and generalizing of the advanced library experience. In due time, their names were widely known in the library world, and today, they are forgotten, alas. Vera Isaevna Gorovits (1888—1950) was one of those high-class experts.
