Overall, a comprehensive long-term training of the left hand in healthy, strongly right handed participants resulted in significant motor performance improvements, as well as an intermanual learning transfer differently pronounced depending on the type of movement tested. Whereas cortical motor area activation decreased over time, striatum and cerebellar anterior hemisphere activity seem to represent increasing resources after training.
