<jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Tin(IV) chloride catalyzed cyclization of the epoxy olefin (±)‐<jats:bold>7</jats:bold> gave the octahydroazulene derivative (±)‐<jats:bold>9</jats:bold>, the structure of which was solved by X‐ray analysis of its derivative (±)‐<jats:bold>11</jats:bold>. Titanium(IV) chloride catalyzed cyclization of the epoxy triene (±)‐<jats:bold>18</jats:bold> yielded the hydrobenz[<jats:italic>e</jats:italic>]indene derivative (±)‐<jats:bold>19</jats:bold> as a mixture of stereoisomers.
